ACTION FOR CHILDREN Home Collection Boxes (formerly NCH)
It is time to empty the Action for Children home collecting boxes.  Please bring them to church on Sunday May 1st or Sunday May 8th and give them to Brenda Smith (morning service) or place them in the marked box in the foyer.  If you have any problems with these arrangements please speak to Brenda or call Stephanie Hyde or contact church office and we’ll make alternative arrangements.  If you are looking for somewhere to deposit your loose change and would like to have a box, please contact Stephanie Hyde.

Wanted – Worship Stewards  We are in need of some new people in the Worship Stewards Team as those that came at the beginning of this service have now ‘done their time’ and will be stepping down at the end of the month.

From 1st May we need at least 4 new Worship Stewards so that duties can be spread across the weeks. If you feel you are able to give this commitment to the church which entails about 1 duty day in 4 weeks, supports the Church Stewards and enables the service to go ahead, please see Lewis Sillitoe or Alison Exton for a brief job description and/or a chat. Thank you to those we have already approached.  Please prayerfully consider your reaction to this request.

CHRISTIAN AID WEEK 15th – 21st MAY 2011. Once again you are asked to consider those less fortunate than yourself.  Can you give a little of your TIME (two hours will make a big difference) in collecting door to door much need funds for those people who need aid from Christians.  Names to Monica and Derek Harrison please,  or contact church office.

The Royal Wedding  will be shown on the Big Screen after Shoppers’ Service on Friday April 29th, followed by a bring-&-share lunch.  There are invitations for you to pass on the family and friends who might like to join us.  RSVP by signing the list on the reception desk.

The wedding of Alison Exton’s daughter, Sian Musgreave to David Spiby, will take place on Saturday 30th April 2011 at 1.00pm at Shirley Methodist Church. Any members of the church family who feel that they would like to support them on this next stage of their lives are welcome at the service.
