The Men's Supper Meeting, formerly known as the Men's Supper Club was founded in June 1969 after a similar successful Club closed in 1967 when the organiser decided to retire.  The structure of the new venture was arranged to involve as many people as possible in order to ensure continuity. This structure still remains today.

The first officers were: -

• Honorary President :- The late Rev. E. (Ted) Harrison

• Honorary Secretary: - The late Mr. Richard Sambrook

• Honorary Treasurer: - Mr. Sid Beaumont

• Committee: : -             Mr. Eric Stott and Les Garner

• Catering Officer: : -     Mr. Burt Smedley
