Hello and welcome to the website of Shirley Methodist Church,

We are based in the high street in Shirley Town Centre and are a busy community where all sorts of groups and activities occur throughout the week as you will discover when you browse this site.

If you are in the area we can recommend our coffee shop where a warm welcome awaits and where you can get some of the best coffee in town, we also offer excellent light lunches.

At the heart of our church community is of course our worship. Every Sunday we have morning and evening services both of which share in communion every month. Junior Church is led every sunday morning at 10.30 with all ages catered for. At 8.00am on the first Sunday of every month a communion service is held in the chapel. Morning prayers are held every Wednesday at 9.00pm and a service of communion is held monthly, on Wednesday mornings in our day centre and led by the Reverend John Ashplant. More recently we have been exploring fresh approaches to worship and if you are looking for something more ‘upbeat’ then I can thoroughly recommend Jazz Church which is held every quarter. We are community which is shaped by the love of God, which is a love that we understand to have no bounds. In all that we do we seek to extend that love within our church and beyond into the community in which we are called to serve. To this end we continue to meet, work and worship with other churches in Shirley Town centre and are committed to developing relationships across the denominations.
